For a long time, I resisted putting ads on this blog. Mainly because I didn't think enough people came here to justify that kind of thing, but also because I thought it would kill whatever cool factor the blog had. Then two things happened in quick succession to make me rethink the matter. First, The [Legal] Artist was mentioned several times on the popular legal blog Above The Law, driving an unreasonable amount of traffic to this site. Second, a friend reminded me that I'm about as square as they come and that I have a family to support.
So I added some ads through Google Adsense. They're the kind that read your online search profiles and then tailors the ad to that need. You know, the ones that everyone freaks out about because they're hastening the robot apocalypse. I can't say I'm too excited about doing this, but I'd also like to be able to afford to feed my daughter before Skynet enslaves us all.
So, I hope you'll click on some ads when the mood strikes you. And as an added incentive, I will donate 20% of all ad-based revenue to Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, a non-profit that provides pro-bono legal services to artists and cultural organizations in Massachusetts.
And if you'd like to advertise on the blog, feel free to contact me and I'll consider it.
